Dr Alex Braczkowski - Founder

Alex has been studying and filming big cats for over 15 years. His films have appeared on National Geographic and Disney +, and his publications in the prestigious journals Science and Nature. A core focus of Alex’ work has been to develop cutting edge monitoring techniques for African lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas in South Africa, Uganda, and Sri Lanka.

Trail cameras have been a central tool in his work to count these species and during his recent postdoctoral work in China, Alex worked with engineers to test, tweak and market a fully solar powered camera that would deliver high quality video and imagery to scientists, wildlife enthusiasts, and hunters worldwide.

His brand SOLARIS TRAIL CAMERAS aims to deliver customers three key benefits: 1) an affordable price point (especially when monitoring wildlife at large scales), 2) boost environmental sustainability through disposable batteries, and 3) capture wildlife imagery in the highest 4K definition. His flagship WEAPON 4K model delivers on all of these aims. The one year technical part warranty, and one year limited animal damage warranty further boost the attractiveness of this product to people studying, filming, and monitoring wildlife worldwide.

The WEAPON 4K’ final attraction is the fact it has undergone over 15 000 trap nights of the most intensive testing across six Ugandan protected areas encompassing equatorial forests, savannas, and mountains.
